Auditions for "The Man Who Came to Dinner" will be held on July 13 and 14 from 7 to 9 pm. The show consists of a very large cast of men and women with an age range of 16 to 96.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Please do NOT bring a prepared monologue - it will be ignored. You will be given more than one chance to read for a part and if things run very late on Monday the 14th I may extend auditions till Tuesday, July 15.
We will have a read through July 21 and rehearsals will start Monday, July 28.
"The Man Who Came To Dinner" will be directed by Mike Winternheimer and will open Friday, September 12 and run through Sunday, September 28, 2008.

Patchwork Productions, will be holding a summer workshop during the month of July. The workshop will begin June 30 and run through July 24th.The performance will be held on Friday, July 25 @ 7:00pm. Classes will meet on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.at the Melon Patch Theater, at 311 N. 13th Street, Leesburg, Fl. Registration will be held Tuesday and Thursday, June 24th and 26th from 5 to 7 p.m. and is open to all students in grades K through 12. The Melon Patch is pleased to announce the recipients of their annual Scholarship Award in Memory of Eileen Batsch.
This year, our scholarship was underwritten by Leesburg Concrete Co., owned by Lannie and Sue Thomas. Their generous contribution enabled the Melon Patch to award three separate $1,000 scholarships. The three recipients are:
Jerrod Baxter, 18 , senior at South Sumter High School in Bushnell. Jerrod plans to attend Lake Sumter Community College to major in Elementary Education and minor in Theater. Jerrod has performed with the Melon Patch children's theater as well as mainstage. He also spent many volunteer hours helping behind the scenes at the Theater.
Ben Tyson, a senior at Leesburg HIgh School, has been very active in the performning arts at the Melon Patch and in Central Florida theaters. He plans to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, that will keep him involved in the performing arts with a career in musical theatre.
Emily Givens, 18, honors student at Leesburg High School, has decided to attend the University of South Florida at Tampa. Her major will be mass communications with a minor in Musical Theater, which she believes will keep her involved in the performing arts after graduation from college. Emily has given countless hours to the Melon Patch Theater, both on stage and off. She assisted with Children's theater as well as performed with Children's theater and Mainstage. She is also very active in the community, volunteering with Hospice, participating in Honor Society as well as Choir and Dance Choir.
